Wanderlux grew from Rath’s exploration of historical cabinets of curiosities. Rath’s cabinet, however, quickly lost the ability to contain her meticulously wrought natural forms, and the piece evolved into an visceral, luxurious, and sensual artistic landscape that evokes the discipline of a Japanese garden. Each one of Rath’s tightly controlled details carefully reflects wild nature, creating and radiating feelings of peace, space, and light.
